GOSH they’re such NICE guys n gals they get STOMPED ON left n right.
Mostly right.
I think if OBAMA had not been swayed by trying so hard to stay the course his advisers suggested, we’d be:
In less debt
Winning hearts and minds in Afghanistan
Calling a Loya Jurga for all Muslims to confront worldwide opinion against radicalism
Working a Peace Corps angle for American youth.

Seems almost every single security/military type is a holdover.
The photo op with
Republican Presidents Bush 43 and Clinton
(you read that right) over Haiti was sickening.
The man who allowed the fiasco after Katrina should not share a photo op at the White House he helped trash.
He should fade into ignominy.
SO NOW the majority is lost in the Senate, even though it barely matters as the Dems let the Healthcare reform bill whittle away to the size of a small band-aid™.
Maybe we need a Teddy ROOSEVELT, not an FDR.
I don’t have the answer, and apparently no one else does either.
I have laughed at Becknpalin et al for months now, but it seems this lunatic fringe of a marginalized party is not causing mass defections after all. PROOF that a bevy of self-centered non-compassionate users run the ‘Pubs and have since my birth, at least.

  1. Roy,Always love reading your opinions and thoughts, but need to point out something. I'm from the land of Katrina and the horrible after 'defeats'. We know who did what and who didn't do anything. To blame Bush is downright wrong… there I said it. You had a N.O. Mayor screaming because he wouldn't give up power, a Governor doing the same… total confusion. Bush was not allowed to send in troops until Blanco signed it over to him. Check and see how long that took. There are a lot of misconceptions and enough blame to go around, including individuals who know better and DID NOT PREPARE! We are intelligent people down here and successfully evacuated more than 1.3 million people in 3 days. Has anyone else done that? That's our positive…also our rebuilding with pride. Please stop bashing. No one person is to blame.Policies are now set for cities in case of another catastrophic disaster. Thank you Roy and Geaux Saints!

    • Good point, Malaura– and with “Heck of a Job Brownie” (Bush Appointee) in power things were destined to fail. That and a crumbling infrastructure that has been neglected for a century.

  2. Good Point Malaura! I'm sure there's plenty of blame to go around, going all the way back to putting the poor people in below sea-level reclaimed riverbank land like the ninth ward. I am really getting tired of ALL politicians. I wish there was another way to run the country–oh, wait…CORPORATE AMERICA! LOLSeriously, I love N.O and I know you people rallied. It broke all of our hearts to see folks held back at gunpoint on the bridge, frantically waving from rooftops, all too much to bear. I think the Army Corps should also get their fare share of blame!
