Stonewall Democrats In Your Face

Stonewall Democrats really can rock. Reverend Troy Perry spoke about the early days of the movement and the ongoing struggle for same-sex marriage.

A google of gay marriage california brings up first choice as “Beautiful Seaside Wedding” so it seems the party planners and resorts are on board. 1300 benefits accorded to married people should not be kept for a select portion of society. One can argue, these advantages should be eliminated entirely, as they are enticements to keep couples married and in fact discriminate against the domestic partnerships and longtime singles prevalent in America today.
Me? Who needs same-sex marriage? I don’t want it. However, who’s to say that won’t change some day…and I will want to tie the knot with the love of my life. Until then, I am now proudly on the bandwagon. Let’s just hope right wing lunatics don’t make it a campaign issue, but then again, let’s stand up and face the noise.

Where are the Americans???

Well, how about all them ferriners winnin’ trophies. Speshually that Tilda thing. What a weirdo! She looks like a statue of a harpie in a museum come to life–sorta. Imagine crawling into bed with that!

JK. But that Marion Cotillard was a phenom. Too bad the cameraman cut away from her as she gave her best line, about L.A. truly being a city of angels, killing the quote and robbing us of a spectacular Oscar™ moment. Guess they could reedit the clip and focus on her instead of some boor in the audience. At least it wasn’t Nicholson.

For the record, I love Tilda Swinton more than life itself. I would melt in her arms. Wouldn’t know what to do there, but I would melt nonetheless.

Viva Oscar™!!!!

So lovely to be in HERE in West Hollywood on Primary Night and catch the vibe, as political wonks and junkies filled the lounge with incessant chatter and wonkery. State politicos like Uber-Mensch Assemblyman Mike Feuer and the steadfast public servant Paul Koretz spoke of issues of interest to the Stonewall democrats gathered around the plasma screens and cocktails.

Jean Dobrin, doyenne of Weho and ethics Goddess extraordinnaire said it best: “I bet 35% of America thinks tonight is the actual election!” although with great pride as an early supporter I reveled in the strength of Obama’s showing. Wheeeeee! Weho Councilman Jeff Prang shared a support of Barack, with Jeff finding some of Hillary’s voting record shameful. Funny to have the media shoot Allegra Allison, Jeff and your writer for the press-tongues will wag.

I now remember why I don’t give a fig about sports on TV: this challenge was so, so, much more entertaining.

Super Tuesday

So here comes Super Tuesday, whereupon America will rise up and support Barack Obama for PREXY. Within the first minutes of his election, the entire world will know we are serious about regaining our stature across the planet and the great American spirit will be revived. Pragmatic, thoughtful, forceful, generous, all the good qualities will come back to the forefront and the past decade of horror will fade. Some have claimed W as the worst president in history. Not so: Idi Amin was a president. US President? Hands down the most disastrous oaf to hold the office. Tragic.

Okay, Billary might work, too, or a combined ticket of Hill and Obama, either one in the catbird seat.

WIll know in 72 hours which way the winds blow…
